On August 19, 2013, the writer Hugo Hamilton was at USP delivering the lecture The Autobiographical Narrative.

Hugo Hamilton is an Irish writer, author of eight novels, two memoirs and a collection of short-stories. He won the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature in 1992, and his books have also won awards in France and Italy.
